BTEC Advanced Award
‘Principles of Laser, Light and Associated Aesthetic Therapies’
This is a level 4 advanced qualification based upon demonstrating knowledge and understanding of syllabus topics in a medical setting and is awarded by Edexcel. The courses have changed in recent years to deliver exceptional training primarily through demonstration and exercises using a wide range of commercially available lasers in a clinical setting. The course delivers in-depth theoretical and practical elements of pigmented, vascular, tattoo, hair and water-targeting treatments. Delegates engage in practical demonstrations and assess outcomes against QS Ruby, QS ND:YAG 1064/532, Alexandrite 755/Nd:YAG1064, CO2 and Erb:YAG ablative and fractional, Near IR and RF thermal devices, Vascular 532,585/595/940/1064 plus IPL, Dermaroller and Low-level light. That is 20 modalities from 13 different suppliers considered over 18 hours of workshops. These are the most comprehensive and information-rich courses available. We aim to provide one exercise per day using equipment from well-known laser manufacturers. We do limit the course numbers to ensure that all candidates receive the maximum attention.
